On May 14, 1914, Dingman No.1 discovery well in Turner Valley, Alberta, blew in, changing the face of the province's future forever. The discovery of petroleum 100 years ago led to the creation of western Canada's first commercial oil field and lead to the development of the first natural gas plant west of Ontario.
